I've always wanted to go to Quebec. My mother's ancestors came from Paris and settled there, in "New France," and it has a magical appeal to me partly for that reason. If I ever make it up there, I'd love to stay at the Auberge Saint-Antoine, in the historic Vieux-Port section of Quebec City. A 95-room hotel set in a building originally built in 1725. You can ask for a room in the hotel's older section and be surrounded by period furnishings, or go for a more modern suite. Doesn't hurt that the restaurant, Panache, comes very highly rated.

Oh, you must go - it's like stepping back in time and also very European! We went in the fall and the colors were amazing.
