Gowns!

There were some definite hits and misses on Oscar night, if you care to ask me. I loved the three dresses below.

Marisa Tomei's incredible pleated gown was so unique. I can't even imagine the amount of fabric and the hard work that went into creating that gorgeous thing! I didn't love the bodice as much as I did the skirt. Seriously, that skirt!

Taraji P. Henson looked smashing in this highly detailed yet subtle dress. I love the slight color variations of the tiers, they make it look vintage and unique. Such a pretty shape and a lovely lady, too.

I would love to have seen Ann Hathaway's dress in real life. Each bead/sequin/paillette looks like an iridescent piece of glass. Incredible, although I liked her dress last year a bit more.

Major disappointments of the night: Reese Witherspoon, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman and then Sarah Jessica Parker's ample cleavage. A little much. And don't you think Angelina Jolie needs to wear something other than black? She still looks so goth to me, I think she needs a new look. Soft pink, maybe? Also, I think Nicole Kidman needs to steer clear of the ivory gowns. Her pale skin (and don't get me wrong, I love her pale skin) just begs for some color.

Why don't these people call me first?

I loooooove Taraji's whole look. And I really liked Miley Cyrus' dress, but it should've been on someone older & more Oscars-important (like a nominee).

I completely agree about Angelina... at least this one had more of a shape, but she's so boring & dark.

I agree with your dress picks, but I actually loved Natalie Portman. Reese was a huge disapointment. Especially after last year when she looked so incredible. Sophia L. looked like a botoxed wedding cake.

Taraji was my favorite by far! Her necklace was amazing. I totally agree with the SJP, a little much.
