THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR ANOTHER!
Ok, get your thinking caps on, this is {smart girl} jewelry! Adrienne Aggen, the creator of a fascinating new line of science & nature-inspired jewelry, contacted me about her new shop, Phylum Kingdom. Adrienne is a Utah-based designer who is trying her hand at jewelry design, and I think she's really come up with a compelling concept. Adrienne says, "I am really quite fascinated by bugs, entomology displays, and the Linnaean system, which is why each piece of jewelry (or "specimen") comes with its own unique Linnaean classification identification, so you can know the genus and species of the item you wear."
Not only that, but she packages your piece up like a bug display. Adrienne sounds like a very creative girl, I'm so glad she's sharing her shop with us! All of Phylum Kingdom's jewelry is handmade, using lots of natural materials and reflecting naturally occurring patterns of the world's flora and fauna.
Check out some of my favorite pieces from Phylum Kingdom, and then you can see what Adrienne is offering for YOU!

I think this Ignis Forestis necklace is my favorite. Click on the link to see it on the model. It's really elegant, yet organic at the same time.

This Pyrrhia Umbra necklace takes its inspiration from the shape of the bordered sallow caterpillar. Made from movable shell and hemp. Very chic, and what a conversation starter.

Speaking of interesting, check out this Acerglabrium orbis (I had to copy+paste that one) necklace, inpsired by old tree rings, and made from real wooden rings, suspended from nylon copper wire. Are you getting a feel for Adrienne's idea? Isn't it fascinating?
This is what you can win, if I randomly choose your comment! The fabulous Papaver Somnifera {Poppy} earrings! Aren't they pretty? Think how chic they'd be with a black turtleneck and some dressy jeans . . . They retail for $32. You could have them free!
Giveaway Details:- Visit Phylum Kingdom's shop, and choose your favorite piece.
- Leave a comment listing your favorite piece, and include an email address or at least a blogger profile so I can be in touch with you.
- Tell me how you came upon my blog. (again, checking for careful readers! Sheesh, since when am I a second grade teacher?)
- Check back Sunday evening, 10 pm, to see if you won!

Thanks for the introduction, Adrienne! Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
